We can help you with artwork but bear in mind that we have to charge for anything more than small changes.
Your project will cost you less if you have the artwork pre-prepared according to the advice on our website, and you don't make too many changes before we start the job.
Don't worry too much if you aren't sure you have the right software. For many jobs you only need to provide something like a PDF or JPEG.
We can engrave directly from JPEGs but in order to create a cutting path we will need a vector line. Common file types for that are .AI or .DXF and most people will use Adobe Illustrator for these projects. See our page about preparing your artwork for more details on file setup.
For orders not made through our online shop here, we have a minimum order value of £15+vat. Plus delivery.
For orders valued under £50, we charge £5+vat to setup your job. This may need to be applied more than once if you subsequently make any changes.
We use a marking compound which creates a black surface finish to etched areas. We are also able to remove coatings such as anodised finishes on metal products.
We do not currently have facilities to cut metal, no matter how thin.
We can't etch directly in to the surface of metal to create relief.
We love meeting our clients but we do not encourage site visits without an appointment. Most jobs can be discussed via email. If we do decide that meeting you in person would be appropriate, then we'll book you in for a specific date and time so we make sure we can pause any other work as necessary.
We can work with a huge range of materials. Take a look at our Materials page for a few examples. We most frequently work with wood, glass, rubber, recycled acrylic, leather, paper, metal and enamel.
We usually turn jobs around within a week. If urgent we can let you know how busy we currently are. We occasionally need to charge extra if we need to open late or at weekends for last minute work. But we would discuss this with you if required.
Please refer to the 'Preparing Your Artwork' page on this website.
Although we currently only list certain mug colour combinations in our shop, you can enquire about different colours. Bulk orders are also quoted for separately. Send an enquiry and we can email you our full price list and colour schemes. If you prefer to source your own enamelware, we can quote on an etch-only basis.
We can usually source materials like wood, enamelware, acrylic. But we also welcome you providing us with them yourself. We sometimes might do a test sample. Metal needs to be pre-cut and because leather can come in lots of different shades we normally prefer you to purchase separately. You are welcome to have items delivered direct to us.
If we have an email address you will get an automated message when your job goes on to our machine. And again when it is ready to be posted out to you, or for you to come in to collect. Jobs can take up to 10 working days to turn around during busy periods. We encourage you to let us know your deadline when booking in a job.
We can deliver around the world. Ask us for a delivery quote and estimated timeframe.
If you order something in our online shop, you will be asked to pay at the Checkout. If you order anything else with us direct, or via our Contact page, we will send you an invoice to pay direct to our bank. We often ask for an upfront deposit on larger jobs, with the balance due on completion. Sometimes you will just be invoiced at the end. We can take credit cards but not without your card present with us. And this is not possible during the Covid crisis.
We have access to a CNC machine at a neighbouring business. We are happy to quote for this type of work.
Yes! We can give you quote for as many samples as you might need. e.g. if you want to experiment with a material, or test your project ahead of a larger bulk run. Note that there is a min order charge of £15+vat.
1200mm x 900mm. We can however feed through longer pieces of material as long as the width doesn't exceed 900mm per piece.
